Band Biographies>

Nick Stubblefield, Keyboard/Vocals 

Nick was banging on the piano before he can remember, but he began to seriously study piano at around age 9 with Dr. David Foster. He is classically trained, and a self-taught jazz player. At age 13 he gigged at The Blue Ridge Grill at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa in Asheville, NC. He has scored the professional documentary The Fairbanks House Speaks to America and has composed numerous jazz and other compositions.  He had a regular gig at Sweet Heaven Ice Cream and Music Cafe, and has appeared on WLOS-TV, in the Asheville Citizen-Times, Rapid River Magazine, and in the Mountain Xpress. Nick is currently studying music composition at UNC-Greensboro. 

Jordan Harris, Bass 

Jordan Harris has studied and played bass since age 11. He formed the Spitfire band in 2003 with Nick. Influenced by the work of Victor Wooten and other phenomenal bassists, Jordan brings his own edge to the band. Jordan plays electric 6-string, fretless, and occasional acoustic bass with the band. His other interests include martial arts, and he has been featured recently on UPN-62's Xtreme Achievers, where the Spitfire song "Unlax" was also aired. Jordan recently received his black belt from Croley's Martial Arts center in Asheville, NC. Jordan has also composed several pieces for the band, including "J-Diggy and His Bass Guitar," and parts of "Pretty Little Long Legs" and "Gee Dawg, Ay." Jordan is currently majoring in business at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Heath Towson, Percussion 

Heath Towson has studied percussion under Byron Hedgepeth of Asheville, NC. He has performed with the North Carolina All-District Band, Central UMC of Asheville, and various other ensembles. In addition, Heath is a drum captain of the Asheville High School Marching Band, a member of the Asheville Community Band, The Asheville Youth Orchestra, and a member of the AHS Wind Symphony Concert Band. Heath will graduate from Asheville High School in May 2007 and will study the music industry at Appalachian State University beginning fall 2007.
